Baltic Amber Necklace Review

Everyone always asks about Leah’s necklace, she wears it just about all the time and so I thought I’d do a little review of it.  When I decided I was going to do a post about the necklace I contacted Tiny Feet BOutique here in Coralville, where I bought Leah’s, and asked if they’d be willing to donate a necklace as a giveaway and they were!  So we have our very first giveaway, and I couldn’t be more excited that it’s a product we swear by.

So about 3 months ago Leah had been waking up in the middle of the night EVERY night for a month or so.  I was pretty sure it was teething related, because it seemed to improve when I gave her a pain reliever, and she was getting her first molars.  I mentioned this to a friend at the gym after a particularly long night, and she told me about Baltic Amber Necklaces.  I had never known anything about them, and actually thought babies were supposed to get relief from chewing on the amber (which was way off).  So I thought, it can’t hurt to try, and at that point I was ready to try anything.  Normally I’d order from Amazon, but my friend had warned me that you might not get real Baltic Amber, so if you are going to buy it, you might as well know you’re getting the real deal.  So I went to Tiny Feet BOutique and sure enough they had a few options.  I was pretty skeptical, I even asked about their return policy, and almost just left without buying it.  But I had gone there just for that so I gave it a shot.

When Mike got home that night and I told him I had bought one and what it was supposed to do he started laughing and said “You’re kidding right?  You did not buy that.”  I felt a little sheepish but Leah had worn it all day and was sleeping peacefully.  That night she slept though the night.  And the next day she took two good naps (NOT standard for her).  Mike said “OK that’s a fluke”.  But she has slept through the night almost every night since.  Now, it could be coincidence, truthfully I have no idea how a necklace could make such a difference, but even Mike, the Oral Surgery Resident has taken to calling it her “Magic Sleeping Necklace”.

At the park on Wednesday, rocking her necklace.

Needless to say I’m now a believer, and I’ve meet tons of moms who see her necklace and comment that they love them too!  So if you think your baby or toddler is having teething pain it might be worth a shot.  Just make sure you get real Baltic Amber 🙂 .  If you’re not sure where it’s sold near you, here is the link to buy online from Tiny Feet.

AND one lucky winner will have a necklace shipped to your house for free!

All you have to do is go to our Facebook page, make sure you’ve ‘liked’ the From Belly To Birth page, and then comment the name of the child who would use the necklace on the giveaway post!  I’ll use randomresult.com to choose a winner and announce on Monday morning so you have all weekend to enter!

Thank you Tiny Feet BOutique!

Do be cautious when putting a necklace on a toddler for obvious reasons.  There are certain options and clasp settings you can use that allow the necklace to come apart with less force.  It is stated on the package to only allow your child to only wear it when you are supervising them.
